Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly

One of the best pieces of ADHD advice I’ve ever received is…

Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.

As an ADHDer, sometimes the hardest part is getting started. And we often put a lot of pressure on ourselves to do things well, after a lifetime of being told how we’re not quite living up to our potential and “if only we tried harder.”

But if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing poorly.

It’s better to brush your teeth for a minute than not at all. Would a full two minutes be better? Sure, but something is better than nothing.

Don’t let the idea of perfect stop you from taking a small step in the right direction.
